In Dinner With Eleanor Part One, Chapter One reference is made to Channah’s father Revan he working hard in his stained glass workshop in a village near Tbilisi Georgia with his daughter Channah who helps him Dad design and install stained glass for the Czar’s cousin as well as a Monastery for an abbey near Tbilis.
Colored and stained glass has a long and fascinating history dating back to 1450 B.C.E. in Egypt. The raw materials for this new Egyptian glass were quartz pebbles, plant ash and a colorant often cobalt for blue and copper for red. Egyptian glass was in high demand throughout the Near East.
